Acid Xpress is a fully functional free version of Sony's ACID Pro. Acid was one of the first programs to stretch audio. It was originally owned by Sonic Foundry along with the popular Sound Forge. When it first came out it was a huge step forward in the world of DWAs, but since then it hasn't really kept pace with other programs. For this reason I wouldn't recommend upgrading to ACID Pro unless you just like how it works and don't really care about having the most popular and compatible software.
On the up side, Acid Planet does have an active community website that lets you upload your music and connect with people. It's not as popular than other sites as Sound Cloud, Indaba or Reverb Nation but its also less crowded.
